how to shoot fireworks

hi guys can an expert tell me the best way to shoot fireworks? i have a canon 20D asa 100 to 1600. what mode to use? aperture or shutter priority or action mode? need tripod? urgent!! thanks

Hi,

Normally i would set my camera to bulb mode, around F/11. For SLR or DSLR, a cable release or remote control is necessary and most importantly a sturdy tripod to minimise camera shake.

Here is my sample shot of last year NDP.
