Apparently my Dad didn't take care of his sigma 70 - 210mm lens very well and now the plastic parts on the lens have become sticky. Don't know whether this has ever happened to you before but is there any way to save this lens? :dunno:

well... depending on how the condition of the lens is... there may be a way to save it.

the most important thing is to first establish if the inside of the lens is in good working condition. the externalities is secondary. if the internals is all fungused, or dirtied, then it may not be worth saving the lens. if the internals is the problem, you can send it to Sigma service centre for a quote on it.

if it is the externals, you may want to tape the lens up with gaffer tape... i just saw someone selling it in B&S.
