How to remove write protect SM card?

I was able to use my 64MB card until I lent it to a friend. Apparently, he used it in his Fujifilm camera.

Now, I have this problem of deleting his pictures or formatting the card as the card is write-protected. My friend has left Singapore and I am not able to format the card, at least, in his camera.

Do note that the card is not 'physically' protected, i.e. the write-protect area on the card is not covered with a sticker.

Any advice? TIA.

Farmatting the card with a card-reader should solve the problem
