How to properly take photos of cats?

i don't use flash and don't encourage that. I just shoot with high ISO.

Bounce the flash and block the flash from reaching the eyes of the cat,

As long as you dun flash into their eyes directly, they are pretty ok with the flash.

Get a specialised macro lens if you really love to shoot cats/pets/etc. I does wonders to your pic, but of course the core techniques are still very important...

normal tele lens will do, unless your pet is a fish or butterfly

eh got a question...if there's no ceiling to bounce flash lehz? wat if its open sky? coz sometimes the cats are at carpark..or behind near the rubbish bin of the void deck.

Took the cat when are busy looking at something else? use large aperture to out of focus background?

I think there is plenty of ways to shoot cat. no right or wrong.

seems oof and you're at a high angle... doesn't do the picture any good as you can't see the cat properly in this angle.

Shoot at large apertures and high ISO. Meter carefully as the camera will be easily fooled by the large amounts of dark BG. Thus you may need to correct the shutter speed to get a suitable image.

tried shooting a cat few days back when it came under my table at a coffee shop..basically i just made some noise, and the cat looked at me, and i just fired. Av mode, f4, 24-70mm ;p not sure if this technique works all the time
