Hi all,

This picture was taken around 3pm and it was sunny.
Just a 350D + kit lens with skyline filter and no other accessories.
See the yellow spot near the centre of the picture.
I suspect it is reflection between the elements in the lens due to the strong sunlight.

Would like to know if there are ways to avoid the yellow spot IF I must shoot under such condition. Thanks.

that is a flare spot

avoid pointing the lens directly in the sun

use a lens hood

i cant remember what it was, either a polaroid or a uv filter, usually takes the glare out. a lens hood can still give you glare from water.

I suppose I need the polarizer.

use polarizer to cut down reflection from water
but tt orange circle is a sun flare

a polariser won't prevent flare (which is what you have on the pic). You need a lens hood or use your hands (somehow) to block the sun.

To cut down on glare and reflections, use a polariser
