I have a pic, taken in full colour. But I would like to have the main subject in colour, with the background in black and white? How can I do that? Is there any freeware that can do the job? Can Capture NX do the job? I heard photoshop can, but I don't have. Please help. :embrass:

in photoshop, you need to use the brush tool then set the mode to color and select the color white..
whatever you paint over with the brush will become black & white.

use th above if you dont want to play with layers..

Desaturate the pic, use history brush to get back to colour.

Black and white with a dash of colour :)

For capture NX 2, use the selection brush, if its a small area, do negative selection on the area you want and convert the picture to B/W. All the areas other than the one you select will be converted.

If you want a small area to be B/W, use positive selection.
