How to I extend the 8sec LCD screen light-up of D5000?

I'm using a D5000, the LCD screen 'blacks out' after the default 8 sec. I found that quite annoying because 8 sec is really fast. So how can I extend the 8 sec to say, maybe 30 sec? I can't seem find it in the instruction manual.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

it's in the manual. Refer to page 157 under "c2 : Auto off Timers"
