how to have DOF ?

hi, I'm using a Olympus C2100UZ. Can I achieve DOF (depth of focus) like some marvellous pics posted taken by other ppl ??
Is it possible for a digital cam like C2100UZ ? what are the settings to achieve it ??

zoom in using large aperture settings (small number), use macro mode, etc.

/me cringes at wrong terminology being used.

DOF means Depth of Field, the range of which subjects are sharp and appear to be in focus.

Now, what you want is a shallow depth of field. Unfortunately, most DCs, with the small sensor, have incredibly great depth of field, hence it's much harder to get the effect as say, with a 35mm camera.
