wrong!!! like 'em, they'll call the whole gang here!!!

hey folks, is it me or is it like super warm and swarmping with them mosquitos? I'm outta citronella candles and back to the electric bygone emitter. don't want to smoke my aircon room with the coils or it'll stain my clothes with the smell and then it comes a people repellant.

anyhow, went to the provision shop and guess what? da boss told me TODAY all the coils are snapped up. I'm staying in Simei, anyone else in this area that has a damn mosquito problem?

Hey guys, I was surfing HWZ and also come across a similar topic. Here's another way to get rid of mosquitos.

CNN.com said:
BANGKOK, Thailand -- A Thai computer programmer behind a wildly popular anti-mosquito software package has upgraded his program to also repel cockroaches and rats, the English language Nation newspaper reports.

According to the daily, the original free download proved so popular with Thai and overseas Net surfers that developer Saranyou Punyaratanabunbhu decided to upgrade his software to target other pests.

The original program, "Anti-mosquitoes." had more than 50,000 downloads in the first three days of its posting on the Thaiware.com Web site.

The upgraded version, called Anti-Mal 2.0, has been downloaded more than 20,000 times.

"It took me about a month to study the behavior of rats and cockroaches and another week to develop the program. It's more of an upgrade than a new program," the Nation quoted him as saying.

The software generates sound waves through the computer's speakers to repel pests, but because of the limitations of most computer speakers users have to chose which creature they wish to repel.

Users can also fine-tune the frequency to find the specific setting that works best for their environment.

According to the site, it works best up to two meters from the computer, enabling computer-users to work undisturbed and free from the threat of malaria which is widespread in Thailand.

Saranyou told the paper the latest version of the pest controller will not annoy dogs or risk causing headaches because the frequencies that annoy rats and cockroaches are undetectable by human or canine ears.

Some users of the mosquito-repelling program have reported headaches after long periods spent in front of a computer emitting the bug-repelling high-pitched whine.

One solution that has worked for me is to use an aromatherapy set with lemon grass (serai) oil. That has definitely kept the mozzies away for me.

no more mosquito troubling me ever again .... and i have lived happily ever again
if mosquites don't kill you, your energy consumption bills will...

Lately seem to notice an increase in mosquites in Singapore. My workplace, two guys were down with degue fever, and our fogging frequency was increased from monthly to bi-weekly now.

My method of mosquite bites prevention, keep our place clean.

Not sure about u guyz, my trick is to keep my room and da house clean. So far my annual kill rate is 1 mozzie.

this is wht i do regularly:

b4 i leave home for work, i spray the entire room with insecticide, windows/doors closed. 10 hours later... clean up the room abit... whtever insects would have been dead by then. the smell of the insecticide will be gone in a couple more hours.

so far so good... they come once in a blue moon... to remind me to perform the routine:)

keep room clean is no problem for me. but i live on the 4th floor and there's lots of bushes and trees out of my window, downstairs. the moquitos came from there and hide in my room! everytime i walk pass there at night, i sure kenna bite one!

erm, it does NOT work...

ure not alone here, i thought i was the only one having mossie woes.. turns out to be quite a widespread issue indeed. i can have like 10 mossies in my room in one night. its shuddering scary. all i have to do is jus shake my blanket a little and 4,5 will fly out. then its massacre time..muahahah.. big fat juicy idiots.. from my knowledge, nothing works..

mossie coil, mossie mats, mossie liquid, mossie patch, mossie UV lamp, citronella candle, nothing WORKS!

only way is to KILL KILL KILL. its the only species i have no mercy for.. cuz it gave me dengue and causes loss of sleep fo rme.. ;(

Boy what a relief! I thought that I was the only one suffering. I never had this problem before until about a month ago. Now whenever I am on the pc those mozzies will start attacking my legs.

yeah, they are attracted to heat. So i'm going to buy those zappers to zap them when they start flying ard my PC!

hey! i am suffering the same Sxix here also.. but recently a colleague taught me something..not sure if it already mentioned here..but here is..

1. call the town council and complaint and get them to do the fogging (if u are like me, stay in HDB and no aircon at home)

2. get some medication oils (those lu yi oils or axe brand type), not to drink or apply on ur body, but to dip some at the 4 corners on ur bed..the insects are supposed to hate the smell..and bingo, after 1 wks of being attacks, the moment i try this, it works wonder!!!!!

let me know if this works for u..got to patent this method..ahhaha ;)

but i cant.. :(
got to consider the 3 furballs sleeping with me on my bed..
it will irritate their noses...

sigh..
