How to do a pan-shot??

Hi all, I've been experimenting with photos which shows motion.
Tried to do some panning shots but my subject always seems to blur as well.
here's the slightly better one

Any tips on how to do a proper shot??

did you use your body movement follow the subject or just pan the camera with your hands? or else you can use a tripod or the tips of using string in this link suggested.

Moved my entire upper body lol. no tri-pod used tho

its about timing really... just practise you'll get to know more about the right shutter speed to use in accordance to the speed of your subject..

I use shutter priority mode.

aperture varies between 5.6 to 8

exposure at 1/25 as a start for outdoor panning shots. I can go up to 1/50 depending on subject speed.

yea, imo, 1/15s is a little too slow if you're green in panning :think:

Try a faster shutterspeed first as Argyle mentioned

For moving subject, set your "AF" to [AI servo] instead of "One shot" just like taking a boy running toward you.

Others setting use manual mode, F? = depend on light source, Shutter use fast speed.

You try sure OK.

Not too fast otherwise you won't get the moving effect on the background
