As above.

Thanks in advance.

What I do is to:
  • Make a circular selection of the image portion I want to retain
  • Select->Inverse
  • Select->Feather
  • Fill the selection region with black (or whatever colour you want).

Two ways to do:

1. Use 'Burn tool' and manually burn-in the edge of your image. This is the easiest method, but the vignet may not be distributed evenly, depend on your artistic hand.

or

2. - Create a new layer.
- Use 'eliptical marquee tool' on that layer to create an elliptical selection, then inverse the selection.
- Paint it with black color using 'Paint bucket tool'
- Deselect, so that the selection marquee disappear.
- Use blur filter to this layer, choose either one: Gaussian blur or Radial blur. Adjust the blur to your taste.
- Adjust layer blending option opacity, this will determine the amount of vignetting effect.
- Flatten the image.

Hi tsdh & Midnight, thank you very much. The second option outlined by tsdh is what I am looking for i.e. evenly distributed soft vignetting edge. It works.

I added one more step before flattening the layers, i.e use the eraser tool to make the center portion of the image sharper.

Again, thanks guys!

Best regards,

Rty
