How to clean filter?

I have clean 52mm and 58mm without any problem until i got my 1st 77mm!
No matter how i clean it, it doesnt look clean, still can see some smug around. I tried normal len cleaning solution and Eclipse but no go.

Any expert advice?

Place yor filter in an air con room for sometime then take it out to room temp. Wipe the condensation with a lens cleaning cloth in a spiral manner from centre to edge.
