What is your budget? :dunno:panicking liao...wat to do wat to do?
quick qn..i realised that most of the usb cables come with 1 big head and 1 small head...small one for the device (camera/card reader/ hard drive) and big for pc.. any cable with 2 small heads? and if have..can i direct trf to hard drive from 30d?
For myself, I have a digimate(the cheapo portable HDD) with 40gb.
Been using for 2 years plus and countless transfer.
Oh, I can't remember when was the last time I charge??? Battery seems to last forever or maybe it charge itself when I plug into usb.
You can get adapters for the "big" to "small" "head" but you can't just connect a USB hard disk to a camera because a camera is expecting a host PC on the other end, same for the USB HDD.
To TS: sorry for OT.
Get two portable hard disk for your travel.
One HDD in your day pack and the other HDD in your hotel.
"Two is one and one is none".
When travelling, I'll carry my Epson P2000 in my daypack and a NEXTO CF in the hotel. I would recommend the NEXTO CF as it is much more lighter than the PD70X.
HTH.
Agree on the battery part  Lasting forever
well the digimate is only $80+/- (excluding HDD) if you get it from simlim.Budget: $200.00
