How to "brighten" photo?

Just came back from a europe tour and realise i did disaster for my photo shoot with my ixus400.

Some photos turn out too DARK. Anyway to "brighten" them?

Was up in the alps in switzerland and the bright snowy mountains turn out ok. But there were some shots where the BRIGHT part was the back drop of a town or houses, and these houses and people turn out much darker. How to compensate or make sure all turns out well?

So sad that I couldn't capture the best of it.. Think my skill really bad ah!!

I dun get to go switzerland or paris every weekend leh...


Arrrr.. i feel that I waste alot of shots.

Ya, i njoy the trip. But would be better if those fotos i took were better!!

Now my wife making noise. complain how come the fotos not nice one!! haha

Best time to get her permission for more expensive cam & lens :))
(just kidding of course)
 

About exposure adjustment, last publish of GoDigital also has an article on underexpose/overexpose adjustment in PS.
Pretty useful.

damn...saw the liberty statue up from the eiffel tower...but never got chance to go look for it...heh...great position man...

You'll catch it if you take the Seine river cruise.
