Just came back from a europe tour and realise i did disaster for my photo shoot with my ixus400.

Some photos turn out too DARK. Anyway to "brighten" them?

Was up in the alps in switzerland and the bright snowy mountains turn out ok. But there were some shots where the BRIGHT part was the back drop of a town or houses, and these houses and people turn out much darker. How to compensate or make sure all turns out well?

About exposure adjustment, last publish of GoDigital also has an article on underexpose/overexpose adjustment in PS.
Pretty useful.
