how to add filter without lens thread

some compact cameras can have an extension tube attached to the body, sitting over the lens. then a filter can be attached to that tube. there are commercial products available. alternatively you can DIY. or, if possible, just use your hand to hold the filter in front of the lens when taking the shot?

cokin holders can fit other brands' square filters

thinking of buying for a converter lens but the lens itself got no thread any suggestion??

Can the cam take on an adapter? or go to Cathay Photo and check out the Cokin Filter system.

actually the filter is used to protect the tele lens rather than creating any effects don't think corkin is suitable

actually, if ur cam dosnt come with threads to accomodate adapters, it probably wont work very well with them. u'll get wierd effects like severe vignetting or distortion. it may be better to just crop ur pics

my cam has lens thread to attach the adapters but i'm thinking of putting a filter in front of the adapter to protect its lens
