How many of us here in CS work in a laboratory?

I work in the advanced technology centre of a global logistics & transportation company. Researching, evaluating and piloting logistics applications of technologies like RFID, sensors, motes, zigbees!

Not pure enough.... HPLC grade the best! More expensive then champagne! Tastless though....

:bsmilie: I have come across them. I know the price is CRAZY!
For that kind of pricing, hope it is of a good vintage! :bsmilie:

Anyway, for HPLC, Milli-Q good enough liao. Dun need HPLC grade water for my lab's usage.

Update :

1) ipin - Analytical Lab, Tuas
2) sloow - biopolis, research
3) t|tan - NTU, research
4) di0nysus - NUS, research in Polymer science, thin films, heterostructures, interfaces, polymer electronics, chemistry, synthesis etc
5) plsoong - biopolis, research
6) Paul_Yeo - Computer lab
7) HotSpots - Advanced logistics technology centre

Guys (and any ladies?), feel free to intro yourselves and update the list! :)
We're all a friendly and jovial bunch here! :D

ha i dont think millQ is pure enough, forget about the drinking test ;)
WFI is definitely one of the purest and most expensive.
Water For Injection.
This is the stuff you inject into your blood vessels!!!!!

Ha can ya include me? I work in a Pharmaceutical RnD Lab. USA. ;p

We usually use it for RCA cleaning, of wafers, though we're not wafer fab. Wafer fab uses 'CMOS' grade water, which in essense they make their own, resistivity to be 18Mohm/cm, ion levels to be <ppm I believe. MilliQ should be enough for HPLC, but quality depends on maintenance of more than a few parts.

Now we're using HPLC grade water, from JT baker, Aldrich etc. ~$60/4L. bloody ex!

ROMIL (from UK) produces solvents of Super/ultra pure variety, with metallic contaminants down to ppt (parts per Trillion!)

I'm very familiar with labs (studied Chemical Process in Poly) but after a stint with the Air Force, I'm now in the aviation industry...

But deep in my heart, I'm still a chemical nut. So, an upz for my fellow Chemical Brothers! :)
