Once Master Boot record is damaged or wiped out, cannot boot the hard disk. Windows will not load.

Cannot even restore from "backup" software because the system does not recognise any hard disk to restore to.

How to protect the MBR. (besides having anti-malware). How to ring fence MBR so that malware cannot harm it.

It seems there is a way to FixMBR in cases of boot failure.

Apparently Linux boot disk can get in. But that is another OS.

Very long never kena this kind of thing....last time issue dos command Fdisk /mbr from dos boot disk can liao.....nowadays Windows is so idiot proof until I am also not so sure

Wondershare Live Boot? I used it to fix my BSOD

you may want to back up your Master Boot Record to another storage device (external)
and use a 2nd 'body' to write the MBR into your primary HDD (this hdd being set to slave).

In any case...using Linux is really safer... computer cannot add or execute installations without password :D
im tech idiot. use Ubuntu. very graphical. no command line except if want to do more 'pro' stuff.
