Great stuff as usual Edsel.

500D + Autofocus? What's the technique used to track these guys in flight?

OT: Got dust on your CCD.

1st pic interesting, cant see the wing but its inflight. good.

did you use MF or AF? did you use prefocus method? if yes, is there a typical distant that you use for this type of shots? thanks.

As usual. Great shots. And all the above.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Edsel,

Stunning flight shots. Was this done using ur 100-400 + 500D combo? ;) I like the composition of the last shot.

Well done!

Yo man...

Nice shots...nice colours... nice everything... except, did you catch one with "freezed" wings?

Thanks for all your comments. :)

I used Tamron 180mm for these shots. It should be MF.
No particular technique, just know which direction you should turn the focusing clutch and do it as fast as you can. :p
And choose a well lighted place.

Cheers!

Jason: got dirt in my CCD meh? I just clean it llast week, you mean the small one on upper center?

Xaer, I guess you will need 1/4000s to do it. :D

WOW ! great shot with nice background ... definitely much better than mine ...

I like the 2nd shot ... very 3D effect

Excellent shots. Only one word to describe you pics: SWEE!!!

Cheers

Fantastic! Great composition with great bkgrnd! Great aiming skill esp with 180mm...I felt very diffcult to track an object with long focal length.

Thanks for comments!

How fast were they flying at???
They dont fly from flower to flower like bees. More often, they just float/hover around that makes them easier to shoot compare to bees in-flight. :)

Excellent. For the first shot, the hoverfly looks like it is diving.
