Hot pixels

I seen issues with my camera.. and have been trying to reduce its amounts. but hot pixels will come out sometimes during my nite shots..

What are hot pixels exactly other than irritating dots on your picture and any way to reduce them using shooting methods.:dunno:

Techniques to reduce hot pixels include keep camera cool by turning it off when not in use, take shots in longer intervals, use fastest speed where possible, use lowest ISO where possible, use software solutions to remove hot pixels from pictures.
