The CCD tends to get really noisy when using higher ISO, longer exposure time, and also when the CCD is heated up after prolonged shooting.

Some of these noise get so bright that they are mistaken for hot pixels. Usually using ISO 100 and giving sufficient cooling time will solve the problem.
