hmm, no diff... price diff probably...

if you're Christian, probably Mt Alvernia better... but if you have a dislike for student nurses handling your newborn, then Thomson Medical.

Thomson have more local, experienced and service so far rendered to wife and my 2 kids are top.

I prefer Thomson, rooms more like hotel, Mt A is great for carparking and feel more like a hospital. However the nurses feel more warmth and patient.

What do I know, my kid is not out yet, its based on our hospital tours. Do visit and see which one your partner prefers.

Not sure abt tmc but mt alvernia nurses very friendly so far and the single bedder
is huge... I feel it's much bigger than mt. e and glenn e.... Cafe downstairs crappy though

i was born at Thomson with both my sisters at Mt A. i asked my mom why i was born there at thomson, and she said Mt A has more deaths than thomson cause of the patients they recieve. Explains it.

Hahaha... in that case one also shouldn't be born in Mt Elizabeth and Gleneagles (not to mention KKWCH) as being such big hospitals I am sure there are many many more death cases as compared with Thomson...

1)Mount A.After visiting your wife you can go Macritchie to shoot sunset or macro.
2)Nurses are friendly. My neice was born there 2mth back.
3)It's upgraded so it looks alot better than last time.
4)Price
The first reason is enough to make you choose Mount E

This type of situation is not up to poll in Clubsnap.

Your choice of hospital should be done by you to assess the good and the bad.

That's true... I agree. I already had one in mind but want more public opinions. Sure it doesn't hurt huh? ;)

Unfortunately we'll never know if some of the posters are giving the correct information or misinformation in the name of fun.

first and foremost, let me state that I'm in my sorta late thirties and single, but in a relationship.

i'm constantly flummoxed by the weight young parents give to the choice of hospital for their babies' delivery. I'm not at all familiar with issues of (young) parenthood, but is there really a difference in standards among the major hospitals where pre/postnatal care is concerned?

is it a generational trend thingy? or a money/prestige thing..... a sign of economic progress?

im just amused that KK (where i was born in the 70s) is no longer mentioned in the same breath as the two options in the poll......

that is because you are still not a parent yet, you do not understand how things work now.

Nowadays its not YOU or your PARTNER whom have a major say in where you want to deliver. The strongest influence is your family gyne who is based on certain hospitals. KK is by the the most value for money.

So the quality of service between KK and private hospital about the same including specialist? what about equipments?
I have no idea as I am also single and cannot bear a baby :bsmilie: but just wondering cos all my colleagues (female or their wife) went to private hospitals.
Other thing that may be come to their consideration is the cost. Most of my colleagues are PR (or wife is dependent PR so when it comes to KK vs private hospital cost would be very similar I guess), so they either dont get subsidy or get very little.

if you go KK and choose the single bed and go private hospital and choose the single bed, the cost is almost the same. so ppl tends to choose private if they intend to say in single bed.

Access to TMC is easier compared to Mt.A...but parking wise it's terrible due to shortage of space...you can consider that whether you are driving or taking cab

In term of expertise, I will say most SG hospital are good lah....it depends which one your guiney(bad spelling I guess) have accessed to

I have good experience with TMC...and my guiney clinic is just downstairs....so it's no brainer
