I bought a rubber made Akarui hood for $5. Does it really matter? Any hood will do rite?

yah...i bought the rubber one too! $5 also.....CP say the Sony one out of stock and recommend me one that is 10 times cheaper..
but mine is the 58mm one...for my F707..

rubber hood may crack easily, and not as nice as the original hood.

i got the last piece from CP at $65, thereafter, i dun see CP selling Sony hood anymore...other places selling like $90 and above
