Cheap way:free entry
1) Huang Ta Sin 黄大仙 temple, take MRT alight at the station 黄大仙
2) Clear waterbay University Technology , take MRT to LanTian 蓝田station, change to bus bring u up to university at Clear Waterbay. Very nice picture up there
3) Or simply at the TST area
4) Times Square for the XMas decor. Take MTR to Causeway Bay.

What is your main theme / aim?
What type of photography you like?

IMO, 1 day (say from 7 am until 10 pm) really need to concentrate on one area / theme.
Long journey to travel here and there might not be suitable.

Also, the 1 day depends on it is a weekday of weekend.

For me,
1. City / urban - Sheung Wan - Central
2. Street candid - TST, Mongkok at night

So perhaps, from morning until sunset, you may stay in option one, until night time then go to option 2.

1. Star Ferry Terminal (Kowloon side)- City Skyline

2. Tsim Sha Tsui to Monkok (Kowloon) - Colourful neon sign; "man mountain man sea"

3. Peak (if weather is good) - beautiful view of HongKong (night photography)
