HMS Prince of Wales : Return of the Prince

Not open for further replies.
36,500 tons British Battlesip HMS Prince of Wales, together with HMS Repulse, were sunk on 10 December 1941 off the coast of Malaya during World War II.

Image taken from Sembawang Naval Base, Singapore on 02 December 1941.

Now, the Prince have return.

Check it out at youtube.

65,000 tons British aircraft carriers, HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales.
Expected to enter service in 2012 and 2015.
It will be the largest and most powerful warships ever built in the UK, and 3 times larger than the Invincible class aircraft carriers.

And I bet the Prince will visit Singapore one day. ;)

Wonder why one picture shows the aircraft carrier with a ski jump ramp and the other has a conventional flat top?

Future aircraft would be boring because everyone would fly some variant of the F-35.

Interesting to note that it has two "islands" instead of the traditional single. Similar as the future French AC.

The future AC, USS Gerald Ford, is still having a single island and its getting smaller. Wonder is the USN trying to make it stealthier?

i visited the Repulse last year... Can see some of the pictures here:

Unfortunately the quality isn't very good...The Sony T5 was totally shitty. haha

Planning on going back again next year with a tripod and WA set up...Intense planning!
