Hi Sigaporeans.

When a 1.4 Megaton W49 thermonuclear (fusion) warhead detonated 400 kilometres above the surface of the earth in outer space during Operation Dominic / Fishbowl (Starfish Prime), aurora can be seen from Hawaii to New Zealand.

Hi Sigaporeans, can you shoot the Northern Lights from where you are? If so I may bring my tripods when I come over later in the year. Thanks.
Can, but you need to take MRT train 20 times in a row from East to West, cleanse yourself and ensure that you have a Gitzo tripod, Nikon D4S, Nikon 14-24mm, Lee filters & Singh-Ray filters. The Northern Lights in Singapore will only show itself to truly serious photographers. Even if you are perched on top of a Batman spotlight on top of UOB Plaza, it will appear for you and you alone. :)

Even if it was really possible to have Northern Lights here, the amount of light pollution will give a poor result.. only places like NYC, Tokyo or Hong Kong keep more lights on at night..
