hi! :)

i'm new here.
just got a Nikon D3000 (a gift to me).

hope to learn some photography skills from here.
browsed through alot of pictures and most of them are awesome!

before this, I had a Sony Cyber-short DSC.
since then, I've taken a liking to macro shots.

well, hope to know more friends from here too :)

btw, just wondering.
what was your first shot with the DSLR?
was it indoor or outside?

i tried taking some macro shots a these few days.
all indoors.
so i was wondering where would be a good place to try taking pictures outside? :)

macros and bugs - most parks and gardens ... like Botanical Gardens, Horticulture Park

hey.. welcome... i am new to the forum as well

photography is great fun, and even more so when you click some great shots...

if you'd like to learn, there is plenty of material available on this forum, and on various websites... one thing i have learnt from ken rockwell's site - at the end of the day, any camera will click what you see, so what's important is that you "see" the picture in your mind...

and the other is that results of photography depends on light - so understand light, and look for situations, and i'm sure you'll soon start clicking superb pictures

regarding outdoors, singapore is a great place.. you can go to any of the beaches, the parks, marina bay, botanical gardens, the zoo, bird park, little guilin, punggol, pasir ris.. i could go on and on and on... as i said, its what you "see" :) :)

cheers

Hi and welcome to CS!

You can read up lots of resources regarding macro photography here. With a dslr, you'll realise you have lots more options when getting macro shots. A macro lens will be a good investment :)
