Hi everyone, any of you have any idea on setting up a DIY dry box. I read some of the thread, some of them uses toyogo box with thirsty hippo etc. Any other ways i can adopt too??

Prices of dry box and dry cab have come down so much that IMHO you would only save a few dollars and put in a lot of effort if you actually decide to DIY a dry box.

Don't forget that it's about controlled conditions of 45-55% RH. A hygrometer is a must to verify the actual conditions inside the box. Thirsty hippo is too thirsty for small plastic container.

oh i will get a dry box for long term. but for now this dry box will only be temporary. This couple of days heavy workload can't find time to buy it

You'd be glad to know that fungus doesn't start growing on the lenses that fast, so just wait for a couple of days when you're free, go get a dry cabinet. :)

Airtight box = $15
Hygrometer = $30
Silica gel = $5

TOTAL $50

30L Dry cabinet ~$110.
