Help with Reformating and Virus!

hi,u tech gurus out there,can help?
how do i reformat my comp without getting any of these viruses and worms?
i reformated with my LAN cable on,immediately kena the isass.exe problem,cant figure out wat virus it is.any ideas? :dunno:
