When using the crop function to crop my pictures, how can I see how many pixels have I cropped away? For example, if I want to crop a 800x600 picture to 800x400, how do I know I have already cropped away 200 pixels from the height? There seems to be no indicator anywhere on the interface. :dunno:

Well, what I normally do, I open a new page with 800x400 and drag my photo into it. So at least I can adjust which corner I want to chop off...

You can see it in at the circled area:

If it's not in pixels / cm / whatever your preferred measurement unit is, you can change it here:

You can set the crop scale to 8 x 4 inch and set the resolution to 100 pixel/inch. With that, it will always 800x400.
Just change, if you want other resolution.

With the crop tool selected, go to the option panel(the top panel).
Here you can key in your desired dimensions and resolutions.
Just crop normally and the end result will be your desired size.
