I am using Olympus E-510.

There are 2 types of auto-focus but until now, I don't know what is the difference between the C-AF and the S-AF on the Olympus body.

Is there a difference between the auto-focusing speed? The focusing points?

Can anyone tell me the difference between them?

Thanks.

It does discuss it quite well in the manual, the SAF is for still objects while CAF is for (continuously) moving objects. If you've half-pressed to focus and keep your finger half-pressed on the shutter release:

SAF will lock on to your subject, and stay locked if your subject moves, or you move the camera. To focus again you have to lift your finger and half-press again.

CAF will lock on to your subject, but if your subject moves away or you move the camera off your subject the camera will focus again.

Now there's some other rules when it comes to using the AFL-AEL button, but that's another chapter.

Well...for still objects, I am guessing the auto focus speeds should be the same. But it is very impractical to use S-AF for moving subjects.
