If you're a student in SP(Singapore Polytrechnic), or anyone you know is a student there, you can also write a cheque payable to "Singapore Polytechnic" and on the back, write "For Tidal Wave Victims". Donations will be sent to Singapore Red Cross too...

Also, SP will setup a counter at Dover MRT for members of the public to donate useful items (medicines, dry food etc)...

for more details, check out http://www.sp.edu.sg/

Subject: Fw: Please Help SEA Victims of the Tsunami Disaster 2004

Dear All

The Salvation Army is again deploying volunteers, beneficiaries and staff
to ring bells at the familiar kettle stands island-wide. This extended
kettle appeal is to collect donations for the tsunami disaster in response
to an urgent appeal for funds with which to serve the victims of this
devastating tragedy.

The funds collected will be dispatched to the Emergency Services section of
The Salvation Army International Headquarters (IHQ) that is coordinating
the release of resources to assist Salvation Army personnel in the affected
areas of Indonesia, India and Sri Lanka. 100% of funds donated will be
used to aid the victims of this natural disaster. Information about the
services being provided by The Salvation Army in these countries can be
obtained on the following website (http://www.salvationarmy.org)

We are appealing to the public to donate generously toward this cause.
Donations can be made in the following ways:
· At the kettle stands
· On-line via our secure donation portal (
https://secure.salvationarmy.org)
· By cheque made payable to “The Salvation Army”. Please write “South
Asia Disaster Fund” on the back of the cheque
· At selected Starbucks outlets (from January 3 to January 9 2005 only)

Any person wishing to volunteer their services to help man the kettle
stands should make contact with The Salvation Army Volunteer Coordination
Department on telephone 6555 0232.

For more information, please contact

Ms Diana Pang at 6555 0243 (Diana_Pang@SMM.salvationarmy.org)
Mr Gregory Lee at 6555 0241(Gregory_Lee@SMM.salvationarmy.org)

Give Singapore Blood Centre a call. Their blood bank is never sufficient.

In the midst of all the fanfare countdown parties, let us not to forget those who perished and those who does not have a home to go back to due to the aweful diaster.
