I've read a number of published articles on bokeh and none has mentioned that the sensor has anything to do with it. See one of the authoritative articles on bokeh that I've quoted above.

Actually the size affects, the smaller the sensor (rest all remains constant), the harder it is a achieve a bokeh, in other words shallow DOF. I have a compact, pro-consumer, compact DSLR and DSLR but an experienced photographer will understand how to get the bokeh when the need arises , just a matter of easy or harder.
