Help: How to take pple portraits?

Hi all,

Can someone gimme some tips on how to shoot pple? Like tonight there was a mooncake festival celebration downstairs my house. I happily brought my camera along with me downstairs to walk walk, but then found myself extremely conscious of myself holding the camera and walking around. In the end, I didn't dare to snap any pictures.

How do you guys overcome that inherant fear within yourself to shoot others?
