Olympus C2100uz or Olympus C720UZ or Canon A40 ?

Budget around 700 dollars..hehe...maybe can fork out a bit more..

2 mega pixels too little nowadays liao right ?

i think 800+. close to 900. but this camera is quite old. i bought mine in 2000 when it just came out. still going strong and shooting well. no problems with it. the zoom is great and so is the night shots. plus there is image stabilisation!!

actually 10 X at 2 mega pixel...
compared to 3 x at 3 mega pixel...

considering the fact that you can zoom in more...can such compensation be justified ?

2 megapixels will take u up to 4R. Are you thinking of printing beyond this? i've printed on 8*10 paper too.

if u dont want 10x zoom then go for the 3mp cameras. lots of them.

If you want the A40, might as well consider the Epson 3100Z:

but if you're into long zoom, this is out Among the 3, C2100UZ is the best (but also the biggest).

My friend is using the Canon A40. He has good reviews for it. The setback is that you will not be able to turn out the LCD panel (like G2 for example). You can consider getting it. Furthermore, the list price from Canon has dropped from $599 to $499.
