Hi all,
I just started my every first dslr months ago. any advises for taking close-up pic using my existing gear as it turns out "blur"? (EOS 500D Kit II EF-S18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS ) Thanks
Are you focusing too close and beyond your minimum focusing distance?

Zoom in at 200mm and make sure the distance between lens and subject is not less than the min focus distance, which for this lens is 0.45m
min. focusing distance applies to the lens, not what mode you are in.ic. it applies to AV mode too right? Thanks

If you are using auto-focus and cannot achieve focus-lock, back off little by little until you achieve focus lock. Your camera (the sensor, to be exact) should be about 0.5m (0.45m to be exact, which is the min. focus distance for your lens according to one reply) from the object now.

Perhaps you can show us the pic? Easier for us to see and tell rather than just guessing.
