Hey guys!
Actually I joined clubSNAP for quite a while but I wasn't active at all.
I'm currently using a nikon d40x. However,I felt like whatever I take seems the same.
I'm mostly interested in taking pictures of people.

Questions I'd like to ask:
1)http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2296619&postcount=18 (What are all these umbrellas use for? What difference does it make on an image?)

2)Is it essential for me to get a dry cabinet to store my d40x?

3)Where am I able to buy black/white back-drop?

I'm sorry if all these questions are stupid, etc. I want to know more about all these so I'm able to not confuse myself whenever I come across all these.

Thanks in advance :)

the umbrellas are for bouncing or diffusing the flash from strobes.

a dry cab will be good but if u shoot daily, not a must.

backdrops can be bought from stores that deals in studio gear or from the vendors here.

#1, the umbrellas use in this way

and able to create images like this

#2, simple and direct answer: YES.

#3, for muslin (cloth) type backdrop, you can get it from PQ23 (the same person selling the umbrellas), long roll paper type of backdrops are not recommendable to set up and dismantle every time when you doing a shoot, unless you install it semi permanent.
