It's not limited to heart shape, you can have any other shapes as well.

nothing to do with the camera. the effect comes from the technique of using the bokeh of your lens.

You can achieve this on any camera.

Actually yes, but you'll need a really really really good eye and skill with a box cutter.

DSLR-size lenses makes it significantly easier.

a PNS lens is rather small and the aperture opening even smaller, almost a pinhead size. your mask opening will have to be about the same size as the pinhead.
