It's not limited to heart shape, you can have any other shapes as well. :)

nothing to do with the camera. the effect comes from the technique of using the bokeh of your lens.

Actually yes, but you'll need a really really really good eye and skill with a box cutter. ;)

DSLR-size lenses makes it significantly easier.

a PNS lens is rather small and the aperture opening even smaller, almost a pinhead size. your mask opening will have to be about the same size as the pinhead.
