End of the Line
I was in a well known shop to buy some gadgets for my camera. Was looking around when an Ang Moh came in and asked the salesperson for a D700. I told myself, ahh yes...this is a good time to give myself a good look at the camera. so the salesperson handed the ang moh the D700. he tried it out, looked at the menus and asked the price. he got the reply from the salesperson. saw this look at his face. they talked further and the sales recommended the Canon 5Dii. the ang moh tried, took some shots and seems pleased. took out his wallet, paid and left. swift...

i had a chat with the sales. he said most of his customers who walked in with a D700 in mind changed to 5Dii instead due to its price tag. i guess the price diff for a FF cam between C nd N is a factor.

saving up for a D700 but at the same time can't help on eyeing my first FF in 5D.

*sigh*...

the price difference between full frame cameras and cropped sensor cameras is a factor too! :bsmilie:

makes me wonder... what lens did that 'ang moh' buy?

he can't use a Nikon lens on a Canon body... if he went to a shop to buy a D700, he won't be using a 1.5x Kit lens would he? And leave the shop with a 5DmkII with another Kit Lens?

oh yeah.. the salesperson told me he's buying for his son...bought a 24-70 lens. he's using a nikon himself...

The D700 is actually cheaper than the 5D Mkii...

wah...dont play play leh...:bsmilie: who knows someone might just do it...:bsmilie:

People do use Nikon lenses on Canon bodies.

My only thought on this thread is....I wish I can have a father like that

If only there's a similar adapter to use Canon lenses on a Nikon.

Our foreigner friend can use a Nikkor on a Canon. I myself do so for a few unique lenses so as a couple of folks here do so too. I'd got an adapter which doesn't cost me AF, Metering or f-stop control.

AM wanted to buy the C all along. But take that as a chance to also test D700. So the next time he meet withnhis pal can share his experience hands on with D700 :bsmilie:
