How do you actually do HDR?

I've googled, but couldn't really find something. :dunno:

high dynamic range photography? <-- googling it should turn up something

you use programs like photomatix or adobe photoshop to combine the various shots of different exposures

You have to have at least three bracketed shots in the form of 1 underexposed - metered exposure - 1 overexposed (actual stop variation is up to you). You then merge these three files using the Photoshop HDR plug-in (CS2 minimum).

I have tried it once and the result was quite good and should give you a final image that has detail in both the highlights and shadows.

There were already lots of discussions on hdr here before. DO a forum search with "hdr*" and you'll find.

here are some of my pics that are done using the HDR technique.
i used photomatix to generate the HDR image. and photoshop cs2 to do the post processing

Hey Bro,

When you do buy the photomatrix prog, check out this hdr tutorial:

The guy's works are quite good, and he clears up some concepts quite well.

Hope it helps.

Oh yea, just google for something like "HDR techniques" and you'll get a ton of pages on it.
