Good day to you

Can someone enlighten me on what is the handgrip for a Canon EOS? DO you have to buy this seperately and what is the purpose? Can the camera operate without this.

Many thanks for your response.

Question 1 : Can someone enlighten me on what is the handgrip for a Canon EOS?

YOU ARE ACTUALLY NOT VERY CLEAR....MY ANSWER WILL ASSUME THAT YOU ARE REFERING TO THE VERTICAL GRIP ...NOT THE HAND GRIP....HAND GRIP ;p
WELL, IN TERMS OF PERFORMANCE, YOU CAN SHOOT LONGER WITH THE ADDITIONAL BATT POWER....YOU CAN SHOOT PORTRAIT SHOTS WITH EASE....THE ADDITIONAL WEIGHT OF THE BATTS IN THE GRIP WILL HELP TO BALANCE HEAVY TELEPHOTO LENS & YOUR CAMERA BODY....SOME VERTICAL GRIPS ALLOW YOU TO ACHIEVE MORE FRAMES PER SEC

Question 2 : DO you have to buy this seperately and what is the purpose?

YES... IT IS USUALLY SOLD SEPARATELY UNLIKE CANON DIGITAL 1 SERIES WHICH IS MOLDED AS ONE :) AS FOR PURPOSE, REFER TO ABOVE.

Question 3 : Can the camera operate without this ?

YES ......

Many thanks for your response.

YOU ARE WELCOME

Have a good day...
