Hakone Accommodation Recommendation

Does anyone happen to know any good hotel/guest house/hostel to recommend for Hakone (Japan)? Budget is below 8000 yen per person per night. Preferred a place easily accessable.

Just a very short stay, 2 days. Planning 1 day to do some easy hiking, 1 day R & R. Any recommendation for hiking trails or things to do in Hakone is also welcome.

i think one day in hakone should be enough, do a round trip on a Odakyu Hakone Free Pass .

Yep, this was what I was thinking of. If you are thinking of going to the Gotemba Premium Outlet, give it a skip. If you do travel to Hakone from Tokyo and back, make sure you take the Odakyu Limited Express Romancecars and no less.

i just went hakone on the 2 days hakone free pass which cost 5000yen. did not pay extra to take the romance car, instead just took the limited express train.
There is a hiking trail at goba, the scenery there is nice.
