bros ,

28 year old guy this year , realised these few mths have been dropping alot of hair,
my top is getting thinner . any bros can kindly advise?

see a doctor asap and seek advice. If it's due to stress etc, still have hope. If it's due to your genes, need to take hormone suppression pills called Procepia.

Dont go to those Beijing 101 and Yunan... they cost a bomb and dont guarantee results.

And yes.. 28 is about time it starts to come out.... I started at 28... now front all gone... at 34...

good advice.

i also stress falling hair too. Sigh...

wats this procepia? available easily off pharmacy counter? :sweatsm:

Nope must get from doctor, it's an controlled item.

fear not...... if u just started, go support 'SINGAPORE'....www.biolyn.com.sg

.....Biolyn’s range of follicle care products developed by Singapore Professor Lee Chee Wee :)

Forget about Regaine, Propecia, Minoxidil, Beijing 101, Yunnan ....etc

hairloss is incurable without mdeication (controlled item), thats why those hair product like shampoo and treatment centre advertisment cant say they can cure it (by law iirc), last time they use to say they can cure it.

iirc, the medication, if man takes it, has side effect, think something to do with female homones.

for ladies, iirc, there are also side effects thaking it, but cant remember what it is.

saw these info few years back on local current affair show.

I think it is best not to mislead here. Biolyn is just like any other hair product and has not shown tremendous result. As for propecia, it is too early to dismiss it. It really helps if your hair loss is genetic.

My advice to TS, see a doctor and determine why u are losing hair and then u can seek appropriate treatment.

wow... why are you using so many ? its best not to mix ..... for a fact, we dun usually believe in Ads .... most doctors will tell you that the above dun really work on ASIAN.... then again, if it works for you, then stick with it...but if u use all of the above, you wont know what is actually helping you

BIOLYN has decent results..but you must use it regularly :)

A visit to the doctor wont help much because they will only share 'textbook knowledge' ... MPB (male pattern baldness) comes in many variations and different stages.... its very discouraging .....Anyone who has tried most of the earlier medication will lament that BIOLYN should have been out earlier...some of us have been seen by panels of HAIR specialists

Our local professor has definitely done his homework. Nevertheless, we are all MADE differently....so as long as IT ( whatever it may be )works, then stick with it. Most of us are sticking to BIOLYN :)

To TS... if u cant stop it, dun be dishearten la :)

Sharing my experience

The eight things people don't do to get back their hair:

1. To find out how many hair follicles does an average head has.

2. To find out how to make hair follicles healthy.

3. To find out what not to eat because the saying "You are what you eat" holds death truth.

4. To find out why you should not invest your money in harmful shampoo, conditioner and
other chemicals to clean your scalp.

5. To find why you don't want to get enough sleep.

6. To find out what food to avoid to stimulate hair growth.

7. To find out why one must sacrifice appearance in order to get back your hair.

8. Last but not least....

Bald is Beautiful

Study, examine these three words carefully, analyse in detail.
It will take between eighteen to twenty four months or sooner if you know how...

Bald is Beautiful.

:):heart::)

im in my 30s and i also realize my hair is thinner nowadays... seems to be genetic since my bro also same... anyway i just let it be... not because i dun mind but there are more important things to worry about... anyway im married so appearance thats a back sit nowadays and im not very good looking to begin with...:bsmilie:

Wah, you're too hard on yourself. De-stress is the way to go.
Anyway why fight nature?

Get professional medical help TS, before you lose all your hair and regret not seeing a doctor.

For biolyn, tried it before and I wont comment on it's effectiveness. I would say all the different types of medication only work if you have certain types of hair loss. So find out what is really wrong before dumping the wrong medicine on your head. Besides just a thought, it has been around for so many years... if it's really that good,it would have been really well publicized as the next big thing. But after so long it's still just a off the shelf medication.

To TS, trust me your hair is going to start dropping real fast and u better get help soon.

Me too, was losing hair but now managed to get some back ;p

F**k the medication. It will only screw up your body chemical balance.

Like Forward mentioned, find out what is causing your hair lost first.

Most hair lost starts with newer hair unable to grow in time or cannot reach the mature stage.

Some research I gathered:

1) average healthy follicles have 3 to 4 strand of hairs, we all botak have 2 or less

2) follicles will expand and hair drop easier under heat. So those of you who like to run HOT shower directed at one spot of your head will find that spot losing hair more! STOP!

3) give nutrients to the problem area to assist the newer hair to grow and last longer.

4) stop wearing a cap to cover your problem because it will only make it worst.

5) use the 'correct' shampoo. Most off the shelve shampoo are too oily for botak, even if it says 'Oil Control' etc. One way to find out is to feel your hair in mid day. Brush your hand through your hair. If you hand feels greasy, then the shampoo is not effective.

the reason why the medication can only be prescribed and not bought over the counter is because it does not work :bsmilie: and requires careful monitoring, especially if it plays around with hormones. :sticktong if they work like a charm then it will be made available to public at 7 Eleven liao lo.

When I was young I had severe acne problems. Same thing, went to see specialist and got prescribed hormones controlling medication.

At first it works like wonders! But the human body is more complex than what doctors can learn within their life time.

My body ended up producing more hormones in order to counter the drugs!!! x_x And side effects started to show.

I started developing strong body odours, sweat glands became over active and I sweat from the sole of my feet to the back of my palm. And also become more... ahem... horny or rather sexually more active :sweatsm:

On the other hand, the drugs also managed to suppress facial hair growth like beard and moustache, luckily my manhood is still intact

So specialist prescribed a stronger dose and requires follow up every week! = more money!

My body is still so screwed up now that after 20 years I still had sweat problems.

So next time you wanna try hormones manipulating drugs... please recall this thread. You've been warned.

Don't worry, bald is sexy for some men. However for women.......

Any idea if females can take propecia as well? Thanks! :)

Where to see a doctor for this kinda issue?
Approximately the cost for the treatment and consultation?

You can get a referral from your neighbourhood clinic or from the polyclinic to see the skin doctors.

But of course the private consultation rates will be higher.

No idea about exact costs
