Actually, the title said Chinese girls.
It did not specifically say PRC Chinese girls.
So it would in principle, apply to all Chinese girls regardless whether they are in PRC, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc....
It is true that people can be very different with and without makeup.
That is why photo studios make money from "make over" shots.
Typically, guys look for the girl's looks and girls look for the guy's wealth.
With guys, I guess the same deception can happen.
Some possibilities: Their flashy car may be on hire purchase and one week away from re-possession. Their "condo" could be rented and they have not paid the rent for last 3 months already. Their credit card bill not paid and credit card debt is up to $100,000. Their flashy name card "MD" title is fake. They have a terrible gambling habit and an alcohol addiction which they hide from the girl for the time being. They are prone to violent rages and wife beating after marriage.
So both try to bluff the other.
