So now will the girl get charge for bribery too? It's only fair right as she offered herself and presents in return for good grades. If it was a one sided love from girl to guy then the guy don't even need to give her good grades, just enjoy the presents good already.

True.. both party are in the wrong.. it'll send the wrong message if only one is brought to justice..

"He said while Ms Ko showered Tey with gifts of love and affection, it was a one-sided relationship."

Seems to imply that Ko was a victim, hence, not in the wrong (?)

Actually if someone is guilty of corruption by accepting bribes, the other party should also be guilty of offering bribes. Whether public prosecutor wants to go after her is another story...

If they know the law and is in the law industry, what's more am ex-judge, then should be sentenced to the maximum extend of the penalty. No excuses.

It is good that he was judged to be guilty. Faking mental health problems is one strategy. In his case, it failed.

In any corruption case, the giver of bribes is just as guilty of committing a wrong doing; as the person who took the bribes.

The relevant authority may be dealing with the ex-Judge and law professor first.

well if the prof is unable to meddle with her grading due to the system limitations, as he claims

there is no way he could have been corrupt since the corrupt favor would not be executable...hmm... well . wait till i get my LLB somewhere in 2025? i think i will have a clearer opinion

He should be punished for the bad acting alone :bsmilie:

Only 5 months. He got a lenient judge. Hope he appeals, then High Court can uphold guilty verdict and increase the sentence.

I am surprised he actually even appealed.

Either way, his illustrious career is coming to an end. Jail of 5 months or 5 years, his reputation is pretty much floored.

Maybe he could write a book during imprisonment..
