Actually things did not go as plan today.
I ask Shifu and David out today to teach me how to take infared red pictures,
but halfway through the journey to meet them...
at raffles place mrt,
blur queen Grip which is me realised that I did not bring the battery.
Hahaha....
As I will not be able to make it
if I go home as the journey to chinese garden is 1.5 hour,
even if I made my way home from raffles place mrt,
it still going to take me half an hour to get home,
therefore,
I decided not to shoot any photos today.
Bringing the canon 450d without the battery is as good as bringing a toy.
Due to above suitation,
there is a change of plan.
Be David model since he had ask me before.
Luckily I have put up some simple make up myself,
really very simple.
No mascara and eyeshadow,
so...
don't laugh as my skill as I am not a very good make up artist.

David is a professional photographer who specialised in shooting weddings.
He brought along his canon 5d, 20d infared red camera and four additional lens,
one of which is my dream lens,
tokina 10-17mm fish eye.
David specially brought it for me to play around with mine 450d.
As David canon 5d and 20d battery are not compatible with my 450d,
therefore forget it.

Later David uses the tokina 10-17mm fisheye to shoot a picture of me.
It have the effect of enlarging mine head which in turn make me look like a cartoon.
Even David himself is laughing behind my back.
The effect of enlarging the head is very obvious.
Hahaha.
Ok, that's all folks. David is still editing the pictures and I will post it once it is ready. Tata

the pretty of photographer in Clubsnap...

Wow, whatta rundown of the day. It's like reading a blog ;)

Talk abt big aperatures, this one's making the skin a little too soft and shallow dof for my taste. Don't know bout what others think.

Judging by the DOF in the pics, I don't think it's his aperture. More like too much blur to smoothen her skin.

#04 ... what an angle of capture...

From the images, I conclude that the blur queen Grip:heart: is very pretty ... but are you sure the photographer is a professional?
The images do not speak well of the standard of a pro ...:dunno:

Whoever David is, good luck, pictures are not flattering!

professional can mean that its his ricebowl...

someone in the profession doesn't mean that he's an expert

Given the circumstances under which the pictures were taken, yeah...I have to to agree with Canonised and DP. Whoever David is did not do you justice even if the pictures were done impromptu. As compared to your first set which I like, I cannot say the same for this set. With the exception of #2 which I kinda like, the rest falls short.

Taking #1, I have seen a lot of girls wearing the same type of dress, that includes celebs as well. But not a lot of girls can actually carry off that kind of design as it makes a lot of them look frumpy. For #1, in that pose, sad to say, does not flatter you. In fact, the dress makes you look bigger (sorry ). While I can still live with the legs being cropped off, the position of the head resting on your hand makes you look off balance and about to fall off the rocks.

Somehow I kinda like #2. This picture looks like an advert for the 450. But the way the camera was held, with the strap round your fingers mars the picture. Had the strap been removed and the camera just held like you will hold a camera the picture may turn out differently. Even the pose of which you were sitting seems like you were exercising to me rather than posing, but that is just me.

I dunno....#3. Somhow I feel that the picture was taken when you fell, rather than posing. Somehow this picture does not work for me.

#4 has gotta be the worse of the lot. I understand that this was taken with the Fisheye...but the way it was taken makes your head look excessively big in contrast to your body and the entire picture. If the picture was taken on the 20D, I wonder which focal length was used if it were the 10-17. Even if it were done with the concept of making it look comical...it is not exactly what I will post on CS. I will keep the photo in my HD instead.

Even with minimal make up, you are still very pretty as I have mentioned in your first post on PP and I still standby my words. But this set of pics, really do not do you justice. Whoever David is, had better rethink about this set of pictures. I think an amateur can take better pics of you .

Well it's still a good effort after all... Pretty gal and beautiful smiles...
The candid shot (pic 4) looks cute :D, in a way or 2 I kinda like it...

Feel like reading a blog :bsmilie: I kinda like the 'sleeping buddha' but would be prefer if the lower parts of the legs are not kena chopped off. Personally find that pic 3 is a bit soft and a bit tight on the framing. Personally would prefer to have more space on the top, but I like the feels :)

DP sir,

Can you advise for taking top-down shots, what is the best way of doing so and what is the type of lens that is best suited for this type of shot?:embrass:
