Its been a while since I last went back to the popular Grey Heron area.
It was a hot sunny sunday afternoon with the low tide coming in around 6pm @ 0.3m . Good opportunity for feeding shots. Too bad the warm lighting lasted only till 430pm.
Below are a few record shots of the different type of preys that the Grey Heron feeds on.
All pictures taken with available light, between 615pm till 645pm, @ ISO500 to 640.
A large prawn for starter

A Copper-Banded Butterfly fish - not a typical fish (as it is flat and very hard for the Grey Heron to swallow).

Now the real main dish. A X-Large catfish !!

A bit too greedy I would say

Cheers ! Hope the next low tide will have good warm lighting.

very nice shots....

wonder where you shot all these and with what lenses?

thanks

waaah.... awesome. I love all the pictures...;p

Hu la la.....;p ;p ;p

those are of precious moments, to have the birds picking up the fishes and swallowing them.. how wonderful! gorgeous images!

Nice photos...

Wah, the birdie no doubt is quite big, but can it swallow the not so small fish in 1 go? I know the head goes in first, but still the fish is not small, the bird won't get choke meh?

Thanks for the compliments.

They sure can eat big fishes for dinner ;)

Great moments there. Well rewarded for your patience.
