Greetings, Just got my Nikon D7000 body last night... but not enough time to get lens...:bsmilie:

any advice for D7000 user ???

Welcome to CS, read the manual, its more important than other things for now:)

THe same advice as for users of any other camera: read the manual, read the newbie guides, don't buy anything else unless you know exactly the purpose and the price. Go and shoot. And: the camera cannot read your mind, it's your job to adjust it :)

Welcome to CS... :D

Eh I think ts is asking for lens advice . . .

For value for money option . You can consider tamron 17-50 f2.8 . Decent walk about lens

You'll need a lens to be able to capture some images :)
What's your budget?

Having a zoom lens might be a good idea. Offers some flexibility.
You may consider:
1) 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 (cheap and light lens to get you started)
2) 17-50 f/2.8 (similar range, but 'faster' and sharper. More $$)
3) 18-105VR (the D7000's kit lens. Good value for money. Versatile.)
4) 18-200VR (convenience... kinda like 'all in one' lens)
5) etc
.
.
.

get a prime lens :) nikon 50mm f/1.4 or a 35mm f/1.8G :)
Depends on your budget actually luhh..
anyway, care to share how much is the D7000 body only?? :)

You read my mind.. I'm planning to get one of this.. Follow by 28-300..
Was thinking do I need the tamron 17-50 vc or non-vc so that I can save some bucks for 28-300..

I kind of like to zoom in for picture instead wide open.. Hahaha..
Guess I'm just too lazy to step forward or back...

My remaining budget is about 2k..for lens.. So I really need to be careful on that.. And need the lens for future need as well...
