Hi Profano! Welcome to CS! I don't own a DSLR yet, but incidentally, one of the first few shots I tried taking with my Canon Powershot S5 was also one of those water dripping from the taps kind. Lol.
I am pretty new to photography as well. If you are indeed serious, I think you can go to the library to borrow books by an author called "Bryan Peterson". I've read a few of his books and I feel that they've helped me a lot.
